If the continuing decline in race horses mandates a corresponding decline in race programs, then what can be done to have simulcast wagering compensate for those lost wagering events?

At the same time, how does the simulcast market react to the growing number of smaller fields despite the decrease in the number of races? Can the wagering offering be enhanced to draw greater interest from the bettors? Or will these developments trigger other changes in current betting patterns?

Minimum wagers, bet types, takeout, and mobile wagering devices will be discussion items at this year’s conference, as will prospects for developing increased public interest through high-definition delivery to homes and innovative online handicapping tools.

The 18th Annual Simulcast Award will be presented at the conference, Tuesday, September 30.
